During 2014 John Nosworthy found himself moving from the hustle and bustle of Cape Town to a somewhat small village on the West Coast – Velddrif.

Grabbing an opportunity to purchase a small start-up tool hire business, with a small range of basic building equipment and a few power tools, he started trading on 01 September 2014 and spent the following years growing and expanding The Tool Hire Guy.

At every opportunity, an additional Plate Compactor, Wheelbarrow, Scaffolding, Prop, Builders Hut, Rammers, and other equipment was purchased to grow the equipment stock to meet the growing demands of building contractors along the West Coast.

This has taken some years but currently, the stock levels of the existing equipment have increased and additional equipment has been added thereby expanding the available range.

Not only does The Tool Hire Guy supply to the Velddrif/Laaiplek/Port Owen and Dwarskersbos area but has expanded its service to include St. Helena Bay, Shelley Point,  Elandsbaai, Aurora, Redelinghuis, and occasionally as far as Piketberg.

The friendly and helpful staff pride themselves to provide prompt and efficient service.

In the event of an on-site breakdown, the service team is quick to respond to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum while a dedicated team attends to the in-house repairs and maintenance of the equipment.

Repairs and/or servicing of clients’ own equipment are also done with great pride and dedication.
